Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subjects areas. 

 

Education/Certification:

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university 

Valid Elementary Texas Teacher Certification

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of core academic subjects 

Knowledge of current effective instructional strategies and evidence-based practices

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Flexible and patient

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Strategies

  1. Implement academic instruction that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program
  2. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student needs.
  3. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect an understanding of the learning styles of students,
  4. Use guidelines established by Texas Education Agency to present subject matter and work with at-risk students who have not been successful on state assessments.
  5. Assess student learning styles and adjust instructional activities.
  6. Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.

Funding Source: Pending ESSER-III funding 

 

This position is 100% grant-funded for 36 months.  Therefore, annual employment is contingent upon the availability of funds. Individuals will be required to keep accurate time and effort documentation that must solely align to the intent of ESSER III funding and acceleration of student learning.
