Term:  192 Day Contract

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Coordinate, schedule, and participate in annual Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to ensure timeline requirements are met. Ensure all required elements are addressed and documented in SuccessEd, and that parents, school staff, and service providers receive relevant sections of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Work collaboratively with campus staff to ensure IEP is being followed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Compliance:

  1. Schedules and prepares paperwork for all Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings on assigned campuses.
  2. Leads the ARD committee meetings regarding the development of the individual education plan (IEP) and appropriate placement of students eligible for services under IDEA.
  3. Meets timeline requirements for ARD meetings.
  4. Works with the Diagnostician to ensure all required notices have been sent and evaluations reviewed within timelines, and all are tracked through SuccessEd.
  5. Implements and follows the ARD agenda during all ARD meetings.
  6. Ensures that all federal, state and district requirements are met when conducting ARD meetings.
  7. Makes recommendations to the ARD Committee, when necessary, for educational programming, based on student’s goals, needed services, and federal/state/district requirements.
  8. Shows accuracy when using PEIMS coding to represent appropriate instructional arrangements, related services, and other services provided through Special Programs.
  9. Promptly locks IEP documents and submits paperwork to parents, staff, and service providers.
  10. Takes deliberations/assigns staff member to take deliberations during the ARD meeting and reads them to the committee at the conclusion of the ARD.
  11. Ensures all required documents and supplemental forms are reviewed and included in the IEP paperwork.
  12. Works with campus staff to ensure adherence to IEP

Communication and Professional Development:

  1. Coordinates schedules for ARD meetings and staffing with lead teachers, principals, and parents.
  2. Maintains a positive and effective relationship with supervisors, principals, colleagues, and parents.
  3. Communicates professionally and effectively with supervisors, principals, colleagues, and parents.
  4. Is visible and readily accessible to the principal, staff and parents.
  5. Participates in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignments.
  6. Liaison between campus staff, Special Ed department personnel, and service providers.
  7. Maintain confidentiality.
  8. Promote a positive, collaborative environment for ARD meetings.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
